A young activist of the Black Lives Matter movement is in a critical condition in hospital in London after being shot in the head. Sasha Johnson, in her early twenties and mother of three children, had been repeatedly threatened with death, and was shot yesterday afternoon in the Southark district of south London, say activists from the Taking the Initiative party, active in the field of social equality and civil rights, quoted by Sky News UK.
The police announced that they are investigating: “We all hope his condition will improve. Our investigation is in its early stages and we are trying to understand the circumstances,” said Chief Inspector Jimi Tele, also quoted by Sky News, who appealed to residents of Consort Road, where the attack took place, to check their intercom cameras and doorbells for any clues.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has suffered a gunshot wound to the head. She has always been committed to fighting for black people and against the injustices surrounding the black community, as well as being an activist for Blm (Black Lives Matter) and Taking the Initiative Party, where she was part of the executive committee,” writes her movement, quoted by Sky and other UK media.

“E’ con grande tristezza che vi informiamo che la nostra Sasha Johnson ha subito un colpo d’arma da fuoco alla testa. E’ da sempre impegnata nella lotta per la gente nera e contro le ingiustizie che circondano la comunità nera, oltre ad essere attivista di Blm (Black Lives Matter) e di Taking the Initiative Party, dove faceva parte del comitato esecutivo”, scrive il suo movimento, citato da Sky e da altri media britannici.
